Terms of use
These terms cover the guide at zasurvivalguide.co.za and the forum at forum.zasurvivalguide.co.za. Using either means you accept them.
Who runs this
ZA Survival Guide is run by Imbertech (Pty) Ltd. Our full details are at the end of this page. Write to admin@zasurvivalguide.co.za about anything here.
The guide is general information
Guides explain how things usually work. They are not legal, financial or medical advice. Official facts link to the page we checked and the date we checked it, but offices change fees and rules without warning. Check the source before you act on it.
Forum accounts
- You must be 18 or older to open an account.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what your account posts.
- Follow the moderation policy. We can hide posts and suspend or close accounts that break it.
- You can close your account at any time. The forum privacy notice says what happens to your data.
What you post
You keep the copyright in what you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence, with no end date, to host, show, copy, edit and adapt it on the forum and the guide, and to use the facts in it when we write or correct a guide. We write guide changes ourselves rather than pasting your words in. If a guide already relies on something you told us, the licence for that part continues after you close your account.
Only post what you have the right to share, and never someone else's personal details.
Membership
The guide is free and stays free. A paid membership adds extras on the forum, listed on the checkout page before you pay. Memberships are sold by Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record: it takes the payment, charges any tax, issues the invoice and handles refunds under its buyer terms. It tells us only that your membership is active and which forum account it belongs to.
- The price, including VAT where it applies, is shown at checkout before you pay.
- You can cancel at any time. Your membership then runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, you can cancel within seven days of buying for a full refund.
Ads and listings
Paid ads and directory listings are always marked as paid. We check businesses before we list them, but any deal you make is between you and them.
Changes to these terms
We post changes on the forum at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the law makes us move faster.
Law
South African law applies. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law, and we limit our liability only as far as the law allows.
